Millions of women run – including those who Race for Life. But there was no ‘woman running’ emoji.
I explored the wonderful world of emoji bureaucracy and found Unicode was considering adding technology changes to allow for gender variations — potentially opening the door for a female runner emoji. This formed the basis of the campaign, which on a wider level increased awareness of women running and the biggest female only running event, Race for Life.
